Symposium: Gazes on Greenland

In conjunction with the current exhibition Good Hope Keepers and the Mirrored Portraits of the Ocean by Inuuteq Storch at Galleri Image, we will present the symposium Gazes on Greenland, where different points of view on art from and about Greenland will be discussed. The symposium will take place on 13 November from 11 am to 3.30 pm in Kultursalen at The Greenlandic House Aarhus.

The symposium is arranged by Galleri Image, ASSINGA (which is a collaboration between rum46, Nuuk Art Museum and Aarhus Feminist Collective) and Art Weekend Aarhus. A group of academics and cultural people will expand on those conversations presented in the exhibition. The participants are among others, Tina Enghoff, visual artist, Anne Haaning, visual artist, Stine Lundberg Hansen, former dissemination director and curator at the Nuuk Art Museum, David Winfield Norman, postdoc at the University of Michigan and part of the research group The Art of Nordic Colonialism, Mai Misfeldt, communication at Nordatlantens Brygge, Lisbeth Karline Poulsen, Greenlandic / Danish artist and Inuuteq Storch himself. Mads Jannik Holm will moderate the symposium.
